The words will and shall are known as modal verbs.

We usually use ‘will’ for the future
Examples:
- We will go on holiday together one day.
- She will travel across the world.
- It will snow later this month.
- My sister will probably go out in the evening with her friends.
- Susan will have her tea at her grandma’s house tomorrow.
- I’ll be at home at 7pm so you can call me around that time.
- If you don’t finish your food, your brother will eat it in the night.
- I’ll drink a cup of tea after I finish cleaning up.
We often say I think will .
Examples:
- I think it will snow tomorrow.
- I don’t think Emma will be back home until late.
- I don’t think I will wake up early tomorrow.
- I think Josh will win the swimming competition.
- Do you think the exam will be hard?
- Do you think our teach will arrive late to lesson?
- I think tomorrow will be sunny.
- I don’t think my aunty will have a big wedding.
We do not use will for things we have already decided to do
Example: I am not working tomorrow. (not I will not work tomorrow, because I have already decided that I will not be working tomorrow)
More examples:
- We’re going to the park to play football. (not we will go to the park to play football)
- Are you going to go to Josh’s birthday party? (not will you go to Josh’s birthday party)
- I’m not having a race with you. (not I won’t have a race with you)
- He’s not jumping on the trampoline. (not He won’t jump on the trampoline)
Shall
