The table below shows how questions are rephrased when they start off with ‘Do you know?’ Also when using I know/ I don’t know/ I don’t remember levels of certainty can change and when answering the question, the structure of the answer also gets changed. For example, in the table below when asking ‘How much Do you know is this phone?’ when answering, the last three words are rephrased to say I know how much this phone is.
