Prelims, exams and the door to Higher
National 5 is the graded exam (A–D) that usually decides whether your child moves on to Higher. We focus on prelim and final exam preparation, course assignments, exam technique and the specific topics costing marks — working through past papers and SQA marking instructions together. This is where focused tuition lifts the grade most.

Is your child finding National 4 or National 5 difficult, stressful or hard to keep on top of? SQA courses move quickly, prelims arrive fast, and the National 5 grade often decides what comes next — so some pupils understand a topic in class but still lose marks in the exam, while others need help with confidence, revision or a single subject.
We tutor National 4 and National 5 online in Maths, English and the sciences, matched to the SQA course. Whatever the level, our tutors assess first, find the gap, then teach your child step by step.
National 4 · S4
National 4 is assessed by the school rather than by a final exam, so the priority is secure subject knowledge and steady confidence. We help pupils understand the course units, complete the added-value assessment with confidence, and build the foundations that National 5 will rely on.
National 5 · S4 · Graded A–D
National 5 is the graded exam that usually opens the door to Higher, so this is where most families want focused help. We work through past papers and SQA marking instructions, sharpen exam technique, prepare for prelims, and target the exact topics costing marks — so your child walks into the exam better prepared.
Into Higher · S5
A strong National 5 grade is usually what makes Higher possible, and the step up can be sharp. We help pupils secure the National 5 grade they need and build the deeper understanding and study skills that Higher will demand — so the move up feels manageable rather than overwhelming.
Parents come to us for an online Nationals tutor when they notice one of these:
Two pupils can get the same National 5 mark for completely different reasons.
More past papers won’t fix a problem we haven’t named yet.
The assessment is a short, guided check — done live online, or in person at our Batley centre.
By the end, we can tell you exactly what’s capping the grade — whether it’s a content gap, exam technique, a specific subject, or confidence under exam pressure.
Lessons work from your child’s own SQA course, past papers and prelim questions over a shared screen — not a generic worksheet pack. Our DBS-checked tutors follow the plan from the assessment, so each lesson targets the specific gap capping the grade.
Yes. There is no payment to book the assessment and no obligation to take tuition afterwards. We do it live online to find your child's National 4 or National 5 gaps and explain the clearest next step before any paid lessons begin.
Lessons are live and one-to-one over video, not recorded content. The tutor and pupil share a screen to work through SQA course material, past papers, prelim questions and marking instructions together, annotating as they go. All you need is a laptop or tablet and an internet connection.
Yes. Tuition is matched to your child's SQA course at National 4 or National 5 and to Curriculum for Excellence, including the relevant units, course assignments and exam content, so lessons line up with what your child is doing at school.
We cover both. National 4 is internally assessed by the school with no external exam, while National 5 is graded A to D through an external exam (and, in some subjects, an assignment) and is the level usually needed to move on to Higher. We assess first to confirm which level your child is working at and where the gaps are.
Yes. Prelim and final exam preparation is one of the most common reasons families come to us. We work through past papers and marking instructions, sharpen exam technique, and target the specific topics costing marks, so your child walks into the prelim and the exam better prepared.
Yes. A strong National 5 grade is usually what opens the door to Higher, so the assessment identifies exactly what's needed to secure that grade and build the foundations Higher will rely on. Lessons then target those specific gaps.
Online National 4 and National 5 tuition is taught one-to-one from £40 per hour — exact rate confirmed after the free assessment.

You’ll speak to me — Mr Dabhad — or someone on the team. No pitch, just an honest conversation about whether tuition would help.
