01 / Who This Is For

Who Maths tuition in Batley helps.

Parents looking for a Maths tutor in Batley usually come to us when they notice one of these:

  • They work hard, but the marks aren't movingThe effort is there. The grades aren't following.
  • They understand it in class — then lose it in testsConfidence drops the moment a test paper lands in front of them.
  • An exam is on the horizonSATs, 11+, GCSE Maths (Foundation or Higher), or A Level Maths are coming up.
  • The same mistakes keep coming backThey learn it on Monday and lose it by Friday.
  • Harder questions throw themWord problems, algebra or multi-step questions feel like a different subject.
02 / What May Be Happening

Same low mark. Different cause.

Two children can get the same Maths score for completely different reasons.

  • One may be held back by times tables.
  • Another may understand the method, but misread the question.
  • A third may know the work at home, but lose confidence in a test.

More worksheets won't fix a problem we haven't named yet.

03 / Free Assessment

Name the real gap before lessons begin.

The assessment is a short, guided Maths check — done in person at our Batley centre, or online.

By the end, we can tell you exactly where the breakdown is happening.

04 / How tuition follows

After the assessment, tuition follows the plan.

The assessment shows what to fix first. Your child’s Maths tutor then works from that plan — not a generic worksheet pack. Our DBS-checked Maths tutors follow the assessment plan, so your child gets targeted lessons — not random worksheets or generic revision.

  • Secure the foundations — fractions, times tables or algebra, whatever's holding everything else back.
  • Build exam marks — harder questions, exam technique, and the confidence to attempt them.
05 / Before You Decide

What you'll know by the end.

  • A clear picture of where your child is in Maths.
  • The specific topics that need work first.
  • A recommended tuition plan — if it would actually help.
  • No pressure to continue either way.
06 / Questions

The questions parents ask most.

Is the Maths assessment really free?

Yes. There is no payment to book the assessment and no obligation to take tuition afterwards. We use it to find your child's Maths gaps and explain the clearest next step before any paid lessons begin.

What if I do not know what my child needs?

That is exactly what the assessment is for. Many parents know their child is losing marks in Maths but cannot tell whether the real cause is number, method, algebra, problem-solving or exam technique. We find the gap before recommending anything.

Do you support primary, secondary, GCSE and A Level Maths?

Yes. We support pupils from Year 2 through to A Level — covering primary, KS3, GCSE Foundation and Higher tier, and A Level Maths (Pure, Mechanics and Statistics).

Can you help with 11+ Maths entrance exams?

Yes. We prepare pupils for 11+ Maths including number skills, problem solving, non-verbal and verbal reasoning practice, and timed exam-style questions. After the assessment, we focus on the specific areas that need the most work.

What happens after the assessment?

We explain what your child can do securely, where the Maths gaps are, and what needs to be fixed first. If tuition is suitable, we recommend the clearest next step and how lessons would work.

How do lessons work?

Lessons start from the gaps found in the assessment, not a generic worksheet pack. A qualified teacher guides the plan and our DBS-checked Maths tutors deliver focused lessons. Pace is set by your child’s understanding, not a timetable.

How much does Maths tuition cost?

Primary, secondary and GCSE Maths tuition starts from £14.50 per hour in a group of 4–5, £22.50 in a small group of 2–3, or £39.50 one-to-one. A Level Maths is taught one-to-one from £45 per hour — exact rate confirmed after the free assessment.
