Conservation of Energy
2 important principles:
- Energy can never be created or destroyed, it can only ever be transferred from store to store.
- Energy is only useful when its transferred from one sore to another.
- Energy transfers aren’t always perfect. Useful energy transfers energy from one store to another. Some energy is always lost-usually by heating. The energy inputted will always end up coming out partly as useful energy and partly as wasted energy. No energy is destroyed.
- Total Energy Input = The Useful Energy + The Wasted Energy
How to draw an energy transfer diagram?
1. This shows how energy moves from store to store.
