Improve Tuition began in 2007, after years of encouragement from my mum to start tutoring. The children I worked with in those early years passed their grammar school entrance exams — five years in a row. That wasn't luck. It was a way of explaining things that helped children who had been struggling.
If your child is the one struggling now, that's still where we start.

Common questions
We listen first. You tell us what's going on — the school worry, the slipping grade, the homework battles. We work out where your child is actually getting stuck and tell you honestly whether tuition would help, and which type. No pitch. You'll speak to a qualified teacher.
Both work. Online suits busy weeks, families outside Batley, and pupils comfortable on screens — and works surprisingly well for younger pupils too. In-person at our Batley centre suits primary children who need eye contact and structure, and pupils who lose focus on screens. We'll suggest which after the assessment.
Tell us. There are no contracts — you pay monthly in advance and you can stop any time. More often we'll change the tutor, change the approach, or honestly tell you tuition isn't the right answer. We'd rather lose a customer than waste a family's time.
